Communications
To improve the accessibility of email communications and continue to provide educators with necessary and helpful information, TEA Student Assessment Division posts broadcast emails sent to district testing coordinators.
Out of-School and Out-of-District Testing
Out-of-school (OOS) testing allows examinees who are no longer enrolled in school to take the STAAR during a scheduled test administration at a participating district. Out-of-district (OOD) testing allows students who will be away from their home districts for a scheduled test administration to take STAAR at a participating district.
Texas Migrant Interstate Program
The Texas Migrant Interstate Program (TMIP) provides intra- and interstate organizations the opportunity to meet the educational needs of migrant children from Texas who are out-of-state during state-mandated test administrations of State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR®).

Private Schools
Texas private schools and home schools may participate on a voluntary basis in the administration of secure state assessments. These assessments are STAAR grades 3–8 and end-of-course (EOC) assessments, STAAR Spanish grades 3–5, and the Texas English Language Proficiency Assessment System (TELPAS). Private schools or home schools opting to participate would need to follow all testing procedures and purchase the secure state tests. As an alternative to administering secure state tests, private schools or home schools have the option of administering released tests from previous years.
